Buttermilk Cake

First time using buttermilk in my baking ^-^. Taste light & moist unlike normal buttercake.


Ingredient
  • 125gm unsalted butter
  • 200gm sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 250ml buttermilk
  • 250gm cake flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
Method
  1. Sift flour, baking powder & baking soda. Set aside.
  2. Using a electric whisk, cream butter and sugar on medium speed until light & fluffy for 2-3mins.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time followed by vanilla essence.
  4. Fold in flour alternate with buttermilk in 3-4 intervals, ending with flour.
  5. Pour batter into a lined 8" cake pan and bake in preheated oven at 180deg for 35mins.

is a cultured milk, almost like yoghurt but more diluted, can get from cold storage.
